08 KR seat wiring simplified
The aftermarket front seat in my dad's 01 F-250 XLT had gotten very hard on his bad back on any kind of trip, so it was time for an upgrade. I located a set of 08 F-350 King Ranch seats on eBay for him and they arrived this week. The 01 had the power seat harness under the carpet luckily so we had power(green) and ground(black) on the truck side. The seats however turned out to be a whole new ball game, the drivers one at least. I looked all over on here at diagrams and threads and could not for life of me figure out why this stupid thing wouldn't move. I was getting power and ground at the switch but no movement. Once I dug into the harness I discovered the 6 wires from the switch, and the 6 wires from the seat motor all went into the memory module on the bottom of the seat, but it was not allowing them to connect. So what I ended up doing was testing each wire from the switch and determining which two went to which of the 3 seat motors. After working it all out I have a list of wire colors for anybody in the future who runs into this to save some time
Drivers side
The wires to the switch are as follows
Green/red-Power
Black/purple-ground
Coming from the switch to the plug on the seat motor harness you will have to make the following connections
Yellow/blue+yellow/orange
Grey+grey/yellow
White/purple+purple/grey
Blue/brown+blue/white
Green+green/white
Green/purple+green/purple
Passenger seat is easy
Grey/red-power
Black/purple-ground
Hopefully this will help anybody doing this swap in the future avoid some headaches on the power seat functions.
