Good questions. The pump most likely seals. I think I would send it out
cause there is a million pumps out there and the hydraulic guys know
what their doing. Filling the system, most likely or common, its in the
cylinder. does it lift up at all? If not, Im afraid you will have to lift the
body up with a loader or something and pour hyd fluid in the top theres
a plug, fill with the pump running. Be prepaired, pour slowly or you will
get soaked. Always prop the body with 4x4's while under there. After
awhile you will hear the pump whinning add more fluid. Remove props
and unchain loader and work it up and down adding fluid till it goes all
the way up. be prepaired to use about 5 gal. depending.
does this help?

I personally have never filled a lift system of this nature through the cylinder. There should be some kind of reservior, and a cap that looks like a breather typically. I have seen a few that had a pipe plug.
I have seen the pump (and currently have this arrangement) inside the reservior, and also have seen the pump separate from the reservior.

Thanks for replying, and i currently have the truck apart i'm restoring it and i have everything off of the truck but will be putting it back on and yes the system worked fine just needed new hoses and the pump fixed but with my pump it does have a plug but it is on the bottom, the cylinder does come apart easily i will be at the shop later if pictures would help thats no problem i wander if i turn the pump upside down to fill it up would work? Because that woluld be the only way to fill it, but the point is i fill it through the pump correct? That was my wonder was to fill the cylinder or the pump, thank you for your advice thanks again for replying
