coming on here flaming those "bad" mechanics, and how they cheated
you... well, there is always two sides to anything.

Why did i pay?? i wanted to be done and out of that shop!! never to return!! My time is worth more than dealing with clowns like this. Thought i'd take my lumps....and move on!! THAT'S the other side of the story.!!

So now that i'm sufficiently pissed me off....I will decide in the next week whether to take them to court inclusive of the initial repair, the 2nd repair and the cost to have the repair verified that i did pay for. In addition to an adjust to fair business practices and rates. Then there is always my time and costs. This could cost that shop upwards of $10,000 if i'm successful in court.

Make sure, for those advocating small claims, that you didn't sign any type of arbitration agreement first. Those can go either way and if you lose that, especially since it was voluntary, typically they aren't overturned.

Agreed.....be careful of what you sign. Know the laws in your area. Know your rights. AND use this site!!

Latest....go to start the truck yesterday.....batteries are garbage now because they over used them and didn't charge them properly.....just can't be free of these guys fast enough!!

The latest....the starter is now done....so a new one has to be installed. Tow the vehicle in + starter cost + labour = $700.00!! (sorry for the wrong cost!!)

Last edited by spinto; 06-21-2014 at 12:52 PM. Reason: should have been $770 not $900

No kidding...

Tow $100
Starter $175
Labor $120

Billing the customer for $900?

Priceless.

My apologies ....meant to put in $700 is the number i got from a diff mechanic.

The a tow for $100 in Toronto will take you to the end of the block.....a starter is $200....labour....to diagnose.....add taxes....they want $700.....the truck go to a reputable mechanic.....one here in fact!!
