Buudy needs 4.6 help.
Ok, this is how he explained the story to me. He was driving on the interstate. Went to get off the exit ramp and lost oil pressure. As he ws going up the ramp, the engine dies. He tries to restart it and it wont crank. Now I have read where the oil pressure sensor is bad and will read zero pressure but still have pressure. He dont remember hearing any noises. It just quit. It acts like its welded up inside. Now, if it jumped time. Would that cause it not to turn over, and act locked up? Or did he really blow his engine? Is there anything to look for before we decide to pull it, to make sure the engine is toast? Thanks guys.

Ok, we tore into it last night. It will turn over by hand. We drained the oil, foound no metal. So we pulled the starter and it does not work. It engages but will not turn. So......we understand why it wont start. But why did it die getting off the exit ramp? If starter shorts out, will that kill it? Computer have issues? Need a little more help here.

We were talking about this last night..........he heard a squeal right before it died. If the alternator went out and locked up. If you had a weak battery, how lonag after tha alternator stopped would it take the truck to die out, at night? I think the alternator went out. Caused the truck to kie. And it was just a fluke that the starter was also shot.
