302 swap

I have recently started a complete resto of a 1950 F1 and am stuck on building the motor mounts to install a 302 any ideas as to how to build them?

Pretty sure they are available to purchase? Or not for a 1950?

Sorry....also Welcome to FTE!!!!

Couple things. If you could, please go to your UserCP and put your location in so we can see where you are. Location is helpful at times. As far as mounting an engine other than factory and how to build engine mounts, we would have to know what you are building on...stock front end? custom IFS or swapped IFS? Many variables.

I am helping another member with this same install right now. What front suspension are you using stock beam axle, IFS if so which one? His has a GM front clip with IFS installed. We are using these mounts on the engine:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/an...view/make/ford
A bolt goes thru the ears at the bottom in the picture to a fabricated mount on the frame. The tubular mount Wayne linked to works well with the beam axle and doesn't require fabbing or welding. It may require switching the oil pan and oil pump to the Bronco rear sump style for clearance tho.
The rear tranny mount will need to be fabricated tho and will depend on what tranny you are using and if you have under floor brake master cylinder. do you have any metal fabrication tools, welder?

The mounts AX referenced from Summit are the ones I used on mine, but I got them from NAPA. I made my own mounts from the frame to those using some 1/4" flat plate and some DOM tubing. Fairly simple. Mine were for a factory solid axle.

Hey Lab,
Good to see another '50 on here! Welcome Aboard!
Good luck on your build. Post some pics when you get a chance.
(If you find you are using the site regularly to help with your build - I'd join up. You get rid of the annoying ad's & you get a paperclip icon where you can post directly from your hard drive (very easy).
