Oh my, what have I done to my A/C
So my boyfriend has a 2001 F150. I found out the heater core was cracked, so I took apart the stupid dashboard and replaced the stupid thing... talk about a pain in the butt.
I also flushed the cooling system, as the coolant from the initial drain looked more like oil than coolant, YUCK!
Now that I put the whole thing back together, many hours and cigarettes later, my air conditioning only blows hot air, and when I tried to refill the coolant, it only took 1 1/2 gallon.
I can't burp the lines in the traditional way, as this truck doesn't have a radiator cap.
Any help would be AWESOME!!!
P.S.
The truck hasn't overheated yet, it doesn't say it gets above normal operating temperatures but it feels like it's getting a little warm in the engine bay and underneath.

when you drain the radiator, there can be a gallon setting in the engine block water passages. Best way to burp the system is to park with front end up on a hill so bubbles go out of the block toward the radiator overflow tank. I have also put a TEE in the heater hose on passenger side above #3 plug area. You can remove the TEE cap and use that as a flush, also you can burp air out when filling the radiator.
