Vacuum Assist Pump Failure

I've had the this truck for a couple years now
2012 F150 FX4 Eco boost CC 40K miles

The pump for several weeks has been making a growling sound on startup after overnight sit. Lasts about 15 seconds and the disappears, sometimes it will dot 3 or 4 times before it ends. It occasionally will do it through the days driving on start up.
I've done a search and it is pretty well documented problem.
My question is; is this part of the drivetrain warranty?

I had the same problem on mine at 34k. I would believe it would be covered because it controls the 4wd hubs and brakes.

I took the truck to ford dealerships today and they called to inform me that it is indeed the vacuum assist pump.
They told me it's not covered under the extended power drivetrain warranty.
They also informed me that the pump is on National Backorder.
Now what am I suppose to do.
Drive it anyway till the part comes in?

Hi Billyclub,

I know we've been in touch via PM already; send me the rest of your information and I'll see what I can do to help. I'll need your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage and servicing dealership. I want to look into this further.

Where are you located. There are a lot of dealers that show in stock.

I can't get my locator to show me the Northeast because there are so many locations around here that have them. Your dealer can order one from another dealer but it will cost you more but hopefully Crystal can give you some assistance.

Im experiencing cold start brake failure though intermittent. I just about hit a Volkswagen in the parking lot because the brake pedal hardened up. Has there been any mention of Ford covering this problem as a safety issue? I have 24k miles on it and live in the land of snow and salt, upstate NY. $600 repair is STEEP! Has Crystal the Ford Customer Rep been able to do anything on it??

Buy aftermarket. Rock Auto is half the cost. Very easy driveway repair.

Welcome to the forum, f150eco2011. Is that $600 figure an estimate from your dealership? I assume from your name that your truck is a 2011 - is that correct?

I've checked recalls and TSBs and no mention. I may consider filing a formal complaint.
