Pirelli Scorpion 275/55R20 rides

Any others out there with tire balance issues with the 20" Pirellis?

I'm taking my truck in for a rebalance at 250 miles. Tires are smooth and quiet up until highway speeds. At 70 mph and above the truck starts shaking pretty good. I don't feel it in the steering wheel at all, so I'm assuming it's a rear tire or both. Does Ford rebalance wheels & tires under warranty?

Funny, I see I'm a junior user. Guess I haven't posted much over the last 10 years.

At 250 miles I'd go right back to the dealer. You will see many posts on the pros and cons of these tires, but I have never had an issue with them, and we had one of the worst winters in history here in the Northeast this past winter. Good Luck!

I'd go to the dealer for sure. It does sound like a balance issue.

It might not be tire balance, I've seen out of balance drive shafts give this problem.

I couldn't give up my truck for a full day, so I swung by Discount. They found all four tires/wheels out of balance. One was out of balance by 4 oz. Very smooth ride now. It sat on the dealers lot for about 6 months, so it must've not moved much. It started to smooth out after 600 miles, but the balance took care of the rest.

Hey DashTrash, I have 8 posts counting this one ;o)

Aside from my '10 SCREW I have a '08 suburban with Pirelli Scorpion ATR's that balanced like complete EXCREMENT.

Never had an issue until this set......

Not sure if maybe it was a bad lot of them or what but had to balance them 3 times to get them to not do what you described in your original post fwiw......

4 ounces? I wouldn't expect a new wheel and a new tire to require 4oz of weight to balance out...

The Pirellis are known for flat-spotting/getting out-of-round if they sit for a long time without moving. Your tires may have permanent damage, or they may simply take a while to round back out. Regardless, you may be back at Discount before too long.
