'03 King Ranch Paint-Break Pin Stripe
My paint break pin strip is starting to flake. 2003 F250 King Ranch.
Does anybody know a good source for the King Ranch paint break pin stripe? I think Ford gets it from 3M and sells it per section and it's expensive (they quoted me $45 for one door). I looked on 3M's website and they don't list a 3/4" paint break pin stripe. But they do have 1/2" in the 2 tone.
It is 3/4" overall. Sections are 1/8" gold (top), 3/16" brown (middle), and 7/16" gold (bottom). Is there a company that makes this pin strip.
I know I can use 2 separate pin stripes laid on top of each for the same look, but really want to return it to stock. I had an '00 Eddie Bauer Expedition that I had to do that way and it always looked like a cheap pin stripe to me.

I think you have 3 options, go to a stripe, decal shop and have them attempt to match it, or get the part #'s for each piece and hunt them down for the lowest cost per piece. A 3rd option would be to get the 3/4 part painted with the 3 colors but I think that would be more than the decals.
Is there 6 pieces per side? Do you need them all? That would really drive what I would choose as a solution.

That stinks... All the options have been put on the table above. I would think that the other segments may not be too far behind in the process and may also start to peel.. My 99 SD started peeling like that only in the last year or so but I am trading the truck in on my new one so that will be someone else's project..
I guess a fifth option might be to remove the tape stripe altogether.. Not sure what it would look like, but may be better than chasing it for the next few years or so..
Regards - Randy

For future reference and anybody who ends here on this thread after searching.
I ordered 6 of the 70" sections and both rear turn downs. $142 all-in ($130 plus $12 shipping).
I measured my F250 Super Crew Cab (6.5' bed) and it came out to 304" of pin strip. So that put me at needing 4-1/2 rolls of his 70" pin strip, round that up to 5 total, so I ordered an extra roll just for future screw ups etc (every roll after the first 3 is only $10 more). The extra length will be useful for wrapping behind panel breaks and going behind the fender moldings (Ford didn't do this from factory, the sorry cheapstakes).
I'll let y'all know if it turns out to be good stuff.

Sounds good...
A little tip that I learned many years ago and has served me well - when you wrap it around the edge and stick it in place, seal it good back there with clear fingernail polish.. It will not allow any moisture in to let it lift that way.
All this after cleaning with a wax remover and denatured alcohol..
Good luck!

Just updating this topic in case anybody else wants to replace their truck's pinstrip with new material and want to save over 50% off what Ford is charging for the whole truck.
The pin strip I ordered from James Dean Creations arrived fast and was on 3M material. It was a excellent match to the original and looks great.
