got a beautiful new truck! for real this time...

Guys, crazy story about how I came to own this truck. As you all may know I've been looking for about 4 months hard. I've been searching everywhere every day.

So I was on carsforsale.com Sunday and saw what looked to be an outstanding truck but it was pretty far away. I told myself I wouldn't let that stop me if it was a solid one and being it was a Sunday and I had to work all week I was getting frustrated b/c I knew it would be gone soon. That's happened to me 3 times already so I just called the number on the site and the guy actually picked up. He said it had been for sale 4 days and already had 3 offers but declined them.

I knew that truck would not last long so I took off work, woke up at 6am yesterday morning, rented a car, got money off a credit line I have and drove 250 miles to look at this thing before someone else bought. It didn't take long before I was hooked. Just an awesome truck! I drove it home 75+mph all the way home on the interstate through rain the entire time and it performed flawlessly.

Without teasing you guys any longer here she is, a 1993 XLT w/ 44K original miles!! 5.8l motor and tow package. The previous owner also put some cooper discoverer 31x10.50s on it too. I paid $6200.00 for it. The best part is it's a TX truck so it's completely rust free. There is barely even any surface rust on the leafs. I'm stoked!

These are the only pics I have so far as I stopped on the way home to take a couple

Looks solid. The Texas trucks are always the most kept together. Good luck with the new purchase! And that rental looks like a beast

Great purchase! Definitely worth the price for a rust free truck. You won't regret it.

Thanks everyone. I am very happy with it. Now I just need to sell my 06 Focus soon. It was worth it to me to pay more for a nice one. It does have a couple dents but that's about it. It does have a couple minor flaws in the interior but I'm totally ok w that bc I won't just be letting it sit in the garage. I also love the tires on there. Didn't think I'd like those big running boards either but I do. It makes the truck look bigger

The rust free platform you have makes every penny you put into it fixing it up worth it.

At the moment I'm about out of pennies but yeah I know what u mean. Once I sell that other car I'll have some free money and I plan on having this truck a long time

Congrats on the new truck. Excellent price on it for as good as shape as it is in. Any pics of the inside? Love the rental car too lol. I had a girl rear end my t bird a few years back and they gave me a Chevy aveo rental car for a few weeks. I could almost sit in the back seat and reach the pedals.....

Here is a pic of the interior from the guy that sold it to me and a couple others from his lot. In that last one if you look in the background you'll see a little yellow building. That is where we did the paperwork. It's right next to his house he's lived in his entire 58 year life. I figured a guy like that has to be honest

It's got an automatic transmission. I assume it's the EOD. I don't know if there is another automatic in that year but it's an auto. Btw I call her "Sandy"
