It is a floater. Sorry for the miss info. I haven't had it apart in years and have had so many others apart lately I just miss remembered. I hate getting old.

The vin plate says the truck should have a 9 inch with 3.0s in it (A1).
A1 = Spicer/Dana 44 Rear Axle / 3.73-1 / Limited Slip / 3,300 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.

That is a Dana 80 center for sure. ford put 8 lug 80's in some E350 and 450 vans with 4:10 gears. dodge also used 8 lug 80's. On the axle tube you may find a build date code stamped in. the 80 cast into the housing is the truth, that's the way Dana marks their rearends.

55f100tx - Can you pass along what years Ford did that in the vans? This gives me an idea. Thanks!

1996 to 1999 E350 1999-2000 E450 They came in the cab and chassis models, look under a U haul. other years may be available. The E450 is wider than the E350 axle.
