I don't shoot black powder pistols but I do shoot black powder rifles. This is the place for all your muzzle loading needs.

I have a 58cal percussion cap repli hunter. It's a Euro-Arms made in Italy built in 1976 to replicate the 1863 Remington zouave. I have both #11 and musket cap nipples. I shoot both greased minies and patched roundball. I hunt with greased minies.
In a pinch the Cabela's store has some blackpowder supplies.
What are you shooting?

Yeah, there's not much dixie doesn't have for black powder supplies.
What do you need to get your pistols working?
Save yourself some money and make your own patches. Take an old thin tshirt and cut it into the sizes you need. Then use a little swipe of bore butter on your patch before you load.

Picked up a used compound a few weekends ago in Ernul, NC. You know how it goes. Went to get a fresh bow string for the recurve and while getting the string put on talked myself into a used compound. He let me shoot it a bunch. Adjusted the Cam for my draw. I shot over and over until we got everything adjusted and dialed in. I'm really liking it. Tight groups at 20yds. Ready to move back to 30yds. Then she'll be ready to stick one this September.

In my 20's I was big into compounds and all the tech. Got to the point where I was shooting more 3-d tourneys than hunting. Got completely away from it for a long time.
A few years ago I got back into it. I went with a recurve. I hunted the past few seasons but wasn't able to get much time in the woods with it. I enjoyed shooting it. I will still keep it for casual target practice and for others to use and try.
I'm really digging the new bow though. It's only 28" cam to cam. So it's pretty compact.
I have it set up at 60lbs. (it goes to 70lbs) With a 28.5" draw length.
Shooting easton bloodline 400 carbons with 100gr QAD exodus broadheads and plastic blazer vanes set straight not helical.
Super smooth draw. Very quiet. Can hold it for ages. (something you cant do with a traditional bow) Already busting up arrows at 20yds.
Larry, it's miserable hunting in late August early Sept but you do get an extra month to hunt with the bow. Two more weeks with black powder. So between the two I get more time in the woods before rifle season and all the yahoos and dogs show up everywhere. Even though I hunt on private property you can't stop dogs from going through your woods. Most days it's aggravating. Occasionally though if it's slow and nothing is moving I don't mind the dogs stirring things up.

Yea I've always hunted with rifle, a little bit with black powered but never was close enough to get anything with it though.
I do tend to hunt alot more with dogs than still hunting, to me it is more fun. However I have killed more, and bigger deer still hunting... I just get bored easily if nothing is moving.

So ages ago I purchased an M6 Scout over/under. I've had it since high school, but a few years ago, when closing the break barell, the stock bent, flat areas on either side of the trigger assembly. I took it apart and have slowly been massaging the plates flat, and back to original form.
Today i I finally got the trigger assembly put back together and installed. Fingers crossed it's all back and square and safe.
