My son needs help!
Hi all,
My 18 year old son is stationed at Ft. Bragg. He recently purchased a 1970 F100 and is having some difficulties. Unfortunately I am in Cali and cannot provide much help. Compounding the problem are his battle buddies who are helping him and giving him advice. They have rebuilt the carb and tried to adjust the timing and only succeeded in causing the truck to backfire and not idle. He needs a good shop or mentor to give him advice and teach him. Anybody know of a good shop... public or private... in the Fayetteville area that won't take advantage of a young man on a limited budget??

Originally it was a starter problem. Then his battle buddies started to help and it turned into a rebuilt carb and timing adjustment (not sure how they related to the starter replacement). I sincerely thank you all for the help and advice. I received a call and have put him in touch with someone close to Ft. Bragg. I will post again with update and a pic of his truck. Its a good looking truck and he is very excited to have an older one.

Thanks.. thanks and more thanks
Thanks to everyone who offered help and advice. Thanks to you all my son got connected with a guy in Fayatteville who is helping him out. He is getting experienced help and advice and is now going forward not backwards.
On a happier note, I finally sold my 6.0 Now instead of $ going to repairs I can direct it into the restoration of my 49 F1.
