But I didn't know we had that one going.
...11 pages for me to read when time allows.

Dumb you say! It is incredible the number of younger drivers that CANNOT drive a Stick! Never even been in one. So yes the demand is not there. Money was always the factor. A manual equipped vehicle was nearly always $1,000.00 or more cheaper than an autobox=demand for same. But now days ppl are willing to pay $50K for a pickup truck=insane. But that's OK, I'll just keep my 30 year old truck.
I always hear old people yapping about how kids can't drive a stick shift vehicle, but they can't figure out how to use a modern telephone without help. Not saying this is you, but just wow, not everyone can do everything.
A lot of people also don't know how to hook horses on to a carriage and go for a rip.

When I took Driver's Ed waaaay back in the day, our HS taught everyone in a manual transmission car. Some kids, like me, already knew how to drive a stick, some had never even tried to drive anything before. But everyone could shift for themselves by the time they went for their license. My dad taught me to drive a manual by stopping on the hill we lived on, shutting off the truck (3 on the tree) and setting the parking brake, and letting me give it a go. Stalled it once by letting off the clutch too quickly. Never had a problem with operating a clutch after that. Probably a good thing it was a 300/6, the off-idle torque really sped up my learning on where the engagement point was without feeding it a ton of revs.

I'll bite.
I own a 2007 F-250 Crew Cab Short Box 4x4 6.0L diesel equipped with the 5R110W is for one reason only. My daily commute, involves bumper to bumper traffic on the freeway. If that weren't the case, I would've ended up with one backed by the ZF 6 speed manual........ if I could've found one (there aren't that many).
Personally I would LOVE to see a 6.7L truck backed by a manual transmission. To me, the so-called "auto-stick" just doesn't cut it. Besides slow sales, there is also emissions and fuel efficiency ratings to take into account. Take the human out of the equation, and you reduce the former while you increase the latter, at least from the federal government's perspective.
That said, if you guys love the manual transmission so much, might I pass along a suggestion? Why don't you guys put your money where your mouth is? Why don't you either start a petition, or write formal letters to the higher ups at FoMoCo to express your strong desire to have a manual transmission offered, backed by a cheque for the order of a new one, contingent upon its release?
And by the way, you can still get a manual transmission equipped truck on 2011 or newer F-250/F-350 truck equipped only with the 6.2L gas engine....... in Mexico that is.

I can't afford one.
But that has nothing to do with my desire to drive them and has nothing to do with me hating to see a culture change...
Now if I "was" rich, I always had the idea of bringing cash into the dealership, plopping it down on the table and saying now only thing is, I want one with a Manual Trans. And when they said, sorry, I would just scoop up my cash and walk out the door.
But maybe they would get me a Mexican built truck. I have heard about them having Manuals. Any drawbacks with them?

I'll say one thing though, if we keep talking about it enough, it may get some attention some day.
This site has already got the attention of an article lately, about the same subject to boot.
