Ecoboost warning around induction cleaning.

That was an informative video; we learned that trying to get rid of carbon on the
intake valves chemically can also get rid of the turbos.
I wish he would have commented on any driving tips that might lessen the build up
problem. Redlining the engine periodically comes to mind, but is that really effective?
That's how we blew the carbon out of the engine back years ago, and it had some merit,
but is it now an old wives tale, or is it still valid?

I'm curious to know if water/methanol injection can help prevent buildup. It's supposed to help clean out port injection engines and if it's a gradual, continual cleaning, it might not ruin the turbos like a can of Seafoam will.
Does anybody know exactly what the Seafoam is actually doing to kill the turbos? Too much particulate matter in a slug against the turbine?
