Unhappy Engine Swap Wiring Harness Issue

Currently working on a 5.4 to 7.3 swap and ran into a snag.

Well project standstill I am now trying to figure out a wiring issue. I was under the impression from all sources that the pigtails for 4x4 would be on the dash wiring in the diesel. Which is not the case. Also the truck was manual everything and doesn't have the pigtails for the power module either.

At this point I am back to the drawing board. I may look for a 2002 wiring harness. Will that work with the 2000 Engine? Also I have a NVK4 PCM, will this work with 2002 harness and this has nothing to do with 4x4 correct, just engine and trans?

Will I need the dash as well as bay harness and will I need the fuse panels as well?

You can switch the 4x4 without the PCM. You can do this by using 5 Pin Relays. However, it will be up to YOU not to engage above 50 MPH or Low Range when moving. The feed circuit can be switched with the ignition switch via a relay as well.

The only other issue I can currently see would be the ESOF (if you have it). You would need to convert to Manual Only Operations as the PCM will not be in the signaling circuit.

I have switched over to manual hubs so that is not an issue. My main question is if I get the wiring harness from a 2002 F250 7.3L with my options and the corresponding PCM would it work with the 2000 7.3L engine? And what PCM code would I need?

I would look for a VDH5 PCM code, most of the '02's and '03's that were automatic had that PCM code I think. I know my '03 and several other brothers that have '02's have that one. The '02 harness will totally work with the engine. No issue there at all.

Ok nice, I shouldn't have an issue with the 4wd then since the PCM and harness will be correct.

Well wiring harness is ordered still need to find a new PCM though. And I hope I don't need fuse panels.

Any thoughts on the pcm?
