Fog light mounting tabs

O.K. here is my sad story! I found a man who said he had the two mounting tabs for a cactus smasher push bar.(he sent pictures) Said he would sell them to me. But after two months,he could only find one! It is on the way. If,for some strange reason anyone has one, would they sell it to me? Or,if two, name your price. If not I will copy the one as best as I can and fabricate one up. It is the only missing piece to my complete restoration of the push bar, lights, switch etc. Thanks Randy. p.s. I gave him 75 bucks for his,so,fire away if you would part with one or a set!

1978/79 F100/350 & Bronco with optional Marschal Fog Lamps and Push Bar.

The lamps did not come with the mounting brackets for the push bar, were sold by themselves as a kit (2 brackets per kit).

D8TZ-15266-A .. Fog Lamp Push Bar Mounting Kit / Obsolete

SOEBY MOTOR CO. in Walhalla ND has ONE = 701-549-3711.

BELL-MCCALL CO. in Hamilton MT has TWO = 406-363-2011.

FYI, the Bronco and F-series use different brackets.

The Ford parts catalogs show the same part number for the Bronco, Econoline and F series (D8TZ-15266-A).

The Marschal fog lamps and the push bar are the same for 1978/79 F100/350 & Bronco, so why would the fog lamp mounting brackets be different?

D8TZ-15266-A =

I would not put anything past Ford of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Sometimes better ideas were not.. like the models they produced where the horn switch was on the turn signal stalk. Yeah.... like that's the first thing I would reach for during a tenuous situation.

Anybody got leads on low-buck Marchal fog lights? I recall they're pricey... any other models with the same PN or nearly identical appearing whose pricing is more reasonable?

Ford was attempting to make their econo boxes more like the Japanese econo boxes by moving the horn switch to the turn signal handle.

First cars to have it: 1981 Escort/Lynx. My 1983 LTD (Fox bodied midsized) had it...it was a PITA to get used to.

Marschal Fog Lamps were also installed on 1979 Mustang Pace Car, 1980/86 Mustang & 1983/86 Capri, but mount differently.

Marschal is a French company, so these frog fog lamps were also installed on 1970's Citroen DS21/Pallas, probably other frog piles as well (Peugeot aka pu-ked 505).

Quality is Job One

When Donald Peterson was prez of FoMoCo, he was asked at a press conference: "If quality is job one, what is job two?"

He stood there like a statue, couldn't think of an answer!

Silver, marchal 850's can be had on ebay. I got two used ones and their covers for under 100 bucks. Or new ones for 215 bucks a pair. Number Dummy I call the North Dakota dealer and I have a pair coming down here to WY next week. The man said they were just the mounts that I described to him to be. So,I will hold my breath till they arrive and are in my hands. He said the two mounting bolts for fastening them to the bar are with the two mounts in the kit. Thanks so much Number Dummy!! Are you going to the Cody WY gun show this year. I may go Friday if it is open to public that day in July. Very grateful,Randy

Not going to the show sponsored by WACA (Winchester Arms Collectors Assn), which the last time I attended, was held in June. There's another show held later, not attending it either.

I need another old Winchester lever like I need another appendix!

10-4.... thanks for the model number. Now I know what to look for.

In the meantime, some vintage Cibie driving lamps will fit the bill.

It is Marchal, NO S!

The push bars are the same? Wow I never knew.

On the trucks the lights mounted on the top bar, on the Bronco's the lights mounted on the bottom bar. The bar diameter is NOT the same hence the REASON for different mounting tabs.

Technically the correct model is 859.

You can lead a mule to water, but you can't make it drink.

D8TZ-15266-A = The fog lamp push bar mounting brackets are the same 1978/79 F100/350 & Bronco.

Bronco & F100/350 parts catalog D8TZ-15266-A applications listed in post 5.

D8TZ-15200-B .. Lamp Kit (Fog) = WHEN USING ON VEHICLES WITH PUSH BAR-(1) D8TZ 15266-A BRACKET KIT IS REQUIRED

OK Bill, I have no clue what I'm talking about.

When I get the chance I'll post the pictures of 4 brackets, 2 for the top bar and 2 for the lower bar that show the size difference. I'll also post the literature I have to backup my statement.

While you might be able to read a book and were THE GREATEST (in your mind) parts GURU (and I use that term loosely) ever real word experience trumps your catalogues.

Not more than a week ago you were completely clueless about this style of push bar.

Since you never replied in that thread I'll correct your errors again.

The push bar is not aftermarket, it wasn't available in chrome and it came out prior to 1978.

The 859's are sought after and yes the bulbs can be changed. IIRC they are just a conventional H55 bulb.

And Bill, don't EVER call me a mule. You haven't deserved that right.
