Sputtering problem 1990 F-150
#16
I have friends at 33rd..........never assigned to Mt Home (only Luke, Se-Johnson, overseas bases---Middle East, Europe)..............sorry to hear about working BUFs --they are actually quite flyable and more maneuverable than you'd think (for big hummers).........

Good results...so far
changed plugs and wires today. fired right up with a noticeable difference (good difference), i labeled the old plugs as i removed them. the #8 was def the worse one in the bunch. looked a little wet, but not super crazy. drove it around the block idled good, ran smooth. i still had some fluid coming from by breather line connecting to the air box. As it was running i disconnected the #8 plug from the dizzy and as expected noticed a decrease in engine idle. talking to a few friends one of them suggested that i may have a fuel injector that is stuck open (hence the fuel in the oil). i pulled the engine oil dip stick and it was most certainly a LOT thinner than normal oil. im changing that here in about 30 min. tomorrow im going to test the connectors to the injectors them self, see what that tells me. also i was reading that if you test fuel pressure from the rail it will tell you if you have one possibly stuck open as well...any truth to that? the motor only has 119 approx on it so a ruined piston could be a possibility BUT that's NOT what I'm hoping for... (maybe im in denial)
anyone out there with similar issue?
thanks,
rick

Rick --nice job and you're working the problem in a logical sequence.........I'm still bothered by the (JP-8) showing up in the airbox...........here's a general way to troubleshoot injectors:
