Archoil:Snake oil or savior?

I did a oil change with Mobile 1 and a Ford OEM filter.I also added the fuel additive the day before the oil change. there was a definite difference in the way it ran,but after the oil change it went back to the way it ran before I added the fuel additive. I've put 100 miles on the whole oil change so far and it is running better this afternoon on the way home from work. I'm sure that it's going to take some time to see a difference,so I will update this thread every 500 miles or so to give my status. I did this due to a funky #5 injector that comes and goes and my truck has 87,123 on the clock right now. I'm not expecting a "magic" cure, but it might be a easy "fix"

About to try the Archoil in my 6.7 to see if it will stop the typewriter "tick" tomorrow. I've heard good things about it for the 6.0s though. Way cheaper than Rev X with better results it seems.

It's extremely annoying! I'll try anything at this point. Different weight oils didn't help.

So if I understand you, you're only running their fuel additive?

Im a believer in the archoil products and will be using the 9100 every 3rd or or 4th oil change. While I wasn't having any stiction problems I decided to try it as a preventative measure and was surprised that it actually runs quieter and got a small bump in fuel milage of 1- 1.5 MPG which was an unexpected result. It took about 150 miles or so to hear the difference.

Sorry,I forgot to say I'm still running a ounce of 2 stroke per gal and a little less on the Diesel Kleen as it's summer weather. It was real quiet on start up this morning but got a little noisey as it warmed up. Mileage is up thou according to the lie-o-meter.......we shall see.I'm a hard case to win over

As Toreador_Diesel asked, are you running the AR9100 in the oil also? Or just the fuel additive?

I noticed no difference with the fuel additive.

I tried it with the fuel first as I didn't have the time to change the oil.I've got both in it right now and it does run smoother and quieter so far.I know it's not just me cause my son said something about it this morning.I waiting for the intermittent miss to go away and then I might be a true believer!

IMHO, Very Good Product

I first put 9100 in the 6.0 and noticed it started easier and run quieter. Of course that is seat of the pants data and not good qualitative data. However, I put it in my ZO6 6M tranny and what a difference. I have the Hurst short shifter and had to stand on it to shift through the detents. Not anymore. Also I have a Ferris Zero Turn lawnmower with a 24HP Briggs. Put it in the oil and now cannot get to idle down like it use to. Internal govenor mechanism really sensative. Put it in the hydraulic steering unit and it actually runs 1.65 MPH (GPS) faster then when I got it. Originally it was speced to run 8 MPH max. FWIW.

I'm about 4500 miles with the oil change with arch oil and 2 tanks with out the fuel additive. This happened because I was too busy to put it in due to a family problem. Fuel economy was definitely down without it,added it the next fill up and it ran like a champ and mileage was back in a big way(hand cal at 19.7 mpg average). I am not a believer in snake oil but I'm sold. I'm going to try hot shots next as I got it so cheap I couldn't past it up(5.00 at the local flea market....sealed bottles) with 2 stroke and power service fuel additive in the fuel.......we shall see how it goes next oil change

Thank you for the update. I know im a believer in the archoil products and am a skeptic at heart, so I wasn't expecting much but ended up with good results, good enough that I will continue to use it.

I did the Archoil PS-2 Kit in November of last year.

Basically two oil changes with 9100 and however many tanks of fuel with the 6200.

That was it. I haven't added anything else since. I saw definite results as any rough cold start completely went away and has not returned.

Cold down here is 40 degrees, but my truck was definitely sticking an injector or two at those temps prior to the treatment.

May do it again this winter.
