Truck dead and towed with less than 1800 miles

Way uncool

Mike, the driver told me all about hooking these trucks up for towing. He gets a lot of practice. It's a very common tow.
One hook on the front axle upside down to clear the air dam, one strap on the left front and then hookers and chains for the rear.

I am also interested to see what happened. I had my oil changed at 1,000 miles since the break in was complete. I hope it's nothing major, you have a nice looking truck!

Any prelim details? Wouldn't start? Died while underway? Hot? Cold?

Sad to hear of this.

Dead battery.
I read this thread and I think it is a simple loose wire.

Dealer;
Battery charged and good
Starts runs drives
Put the truck on a monitor and and all of a sudden there is a huge power draw and spike way out of spec
Then she says "After it did it's thing and cycled, everything turned off and it has been fine. We think it is the stereo"
I went and picked it up and drove it directly to the stereo shop.
They are going to go through it. They laughed. None of us think it is the stereo.

Everything seems to be OK.
Stereo Guy Kevin checked things out.
Says they get this a lot from new car dealer service people.
Point to the stereo and yell out "Well, THERE'S your problem!!"
Kevin is going to disconnect all power to the stereo to prove it.

And get this...
I met a guy that knows a guy that is head of a dealer department at Dick's Auto Group which owns...
yup...
Dick's Ford where I bought my truck.

Hmmm...

Boss,
Shoot me a PM, my brother is a tech at a local (PDX) dealership. I can get you in touch with him, and he will listen to you.

The radio's only going to pull 20 amps max anyway. Any more than that and the fuse would blow.
