Will it turn off the check engine light from egr delete right out of the box,or will it have to be custom tuned for it?

That's a good question. With the EPA coming down on the tuner folks as hard as they have the past few years I'd like to know myself.

FWIW--A and S key are next to each other so maybe just a fat finger?? LOL

 

IIRC Wasn't there someone on here that somehow did not have the option to turn off EGR with the canned tunes?

It would be good to know who has recently gotten an SCT 3015 or updated their 3015 and if the option is still there.

Mine has the option of turning off the EGR, but it would periodically throw the light anyway for no apparent reason at different intervals. It was no big deal to clear it so I never minded much. Ended up with Gearhead files, and eventually it threw an EGR code too. I talked to Matt about it and he sent me new files (not sure what he did) and it never happened again. Mine is an 06, it is rumored the later models will probably still throw an EGR code even if the function is turned off via SCT. I have no idea if that is accurate or not though.

 

I just got a 3015. I will have to check. Havent had much time to play with it. Been missing with this new ids vcm I just got. Think I need a course on learning it.lol

You've loaded a canned tune and adjusted the engine parameters in the menu?

I believe many think you can just shut off EGR in a seperate menu... you have to load a canned tune to accomplish it, whether it's trans only, tow50, tow65, street or performance.
