Adding oil pressure gauge 4.0L V6
I'd like to add an actual manual oil pressure gauge to my 2006 4.0L V6 Ranger. I'm looking to replace the electrical component that talks to the PCM, but I'd like to know EXACTLY what engine oil pressure is. On my 94 it was as easy as removing the OEM pressure switch and adding a "T" to tap into the oil pressure, but on my 06 I'm chasing my tail. I've checked the OEM repair manual and it lists 2 locations for the pressure switch, one being on the back of the engine near the transmission and the second being on the oil filter mount. Any one know which I need to utilize? is there a thread I missed that explains this?
I'm repurposing the after market gauges I salvaged from my 94 after it was totaled. The Volt and water temp are simple taps/tie ins, it's the oil pressure I'm having issues with.

Pretty sure the PCM does not monitor oil pressure, even on the 2006. Can't speak to the location of the factory sender on your truck, but I know the factory gauge is no more than an illusion. Replacing the switch type sender with an analog pressure sensor and bypassing a resistor on the gauge cluster will make your factory gauge vaguely functional.
