I have my eye on a 2011 F150. I am probably going to drive out to the dealer this weekend and take a look at it. It's a Lariat, 4x4, 6.2L with the max tow.

Is there anything I should look out for? Does the 6.2 have any of the cam phaser or spark plug issues the 5.4's have?

You may have better luck on the 6.2 Forum. Most of us here like to argue whether
our EB or 5.0 is the best choice. This link may discuss the problem area you're
interested in.

 

To respond to both posts accordingly, good luck and I actually have my eye on a 13' 5 Liter. However, no way at this time could I afford it, and a divorce would be in my future if I could. My Ranger and the wife's Edge are close to being paid off, and we are trying to budget for a house.

 

Thanks for the link and input. I have noticed the 6.2 in an F150(not Raptor) is pretty rare. Most of the knocking issues are on the SD trucks, not F150 or even Raptors which is weird because isn't it the same engine in the SD, just de-tuned?

Also, what transmission is behind the 6.2 in the F150? Does the SD have a different one?
