Factory 428PI in 1966 F100?
Is this legit? I doubt it. Is P a valid engine code in the vin? 1966 Ford F100 For Sale :: AutaBuy.com

The answers to your two questions are "No" and "No". The only V8 engine offered in 1966 in F100s was the 352 cubic inch, 2 bbl carb, single exhaust, low compression engine and it's code was "Y". For the 1965 model year, the same engine was code "D". Not that the 428 wouldn't have fit - it easily could as its exterior dimensions are the same as the 352. So yes, there could be a 428 in there now. Engine code "P" did not appear in cars for the 1966 model year, either. In cars, code 'P' was for the 390 Police Interceptor engine in 1965, and for the 428 PI engine in 1967. This might pose an interesting question for Number Dummy: If the factory had put a non-standard engine in an F100 (like the 427 in the '63 500XL drag truck), it would have had to have been a Domestic Special Order (DSO), right? How would that have been shown? The guy in the ad has a few misstatements to correct.

If you watch his Youtube video at about 2:53 into it he is talking about the manifold and the part number is C7AE-9425-F. It is a 428 Police Interceptor manifold, but 1967 would have been first possible use. Best known for its use on the 1968 Shelby GT500, but would not have been on a 1966. Sorry.
Here's info about the manifold. C7AE-9425-F

ericknight, That ol boy keeps poking his back up again and again. It is no telling what is in it today but "that" truck probably left the doors with a 240 6. As noted above a FE 352 was the only V8 offered that year, and there was never a 428 installed from the factory in a truck, only 352, 360, & 390s.
