1985 F350 7.3 IDI injection line leak
I have found a leak at the connection of the IP (new IP) for the number 3 injectore line I believe (drivers side, 2nd back from front).
Did some cleaning of the flared fitting and it leaked less but its still leaking.
Need to get it fixed asap for work, the ford dealer wants $70 and 2 days for a new line which is crazy...
Anyone know of some quick fixes or something?
Thanks,
Steven C.

The fix didnt hold up, looks like I have to replace the line,
Anyone know where I can get one rather inexpensive and fast shipping to Gresham Oregon by Wednesday or early Thursday, possibly a store in Portland or the Columbia Gorge...
Also, can someone please verify that front the front of the truck looking towards the back, the odd cylinders are one the drivers side and the even on thw passenger side.
(Edit, I think I'm mixed up a bit, been a long morning)
While looking at some lines online, their diagram says the opposite is true but I think their diagram is off as I dont believe the injectore lines would have lined up if I hooked it all up backwards...
Hope to keep the costs as low as possible as the new repair costs are killing me now that its back on the road, ruptured fuel line burnt out pump, road side rigged bypass fuel lines and new fuel pump install, secondary fuel filter assembly as tank needs replacement from rusting out (next fix) and a handful of other issues.
Thanks,
Steven C.

Ebay or the junk yard. I've seen people sell them off one by one, or even a whole set shouldn't be any more than Ford wants.
It's a high-pressure steel line(2000-3000 PSI injection pressure), and has to be a fairly precise length, so fixing them is hard. I've heard of people brazing them back together, but in your case, the end was bad anyway.
edit: Also, make sure you have the rubber vibration reducers between your lines; having them off is what causes leaks and breakage.

Got a spare from a junk yard, on return trip home, noticed the truck was not idling correctly and found another one starting to crack.
Bought back a set I sold last September and replaced the rest of the drivers side...
Got to find all the rubber clips and get them installed as I believe not having them was the issue.
The things you learn the hard way...
