No Fan

Hi all, I am new to this forum and I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have a 2009 F150 Platinum with the 5.4L and my A/C / heater fan recently stopped working. I have checked the fuses and relays and everything seems good. I have absolutely no fan what so ever, so I am guessing it is the blower motor itself.

I am curious if any of you have encountered this issue and I'm also wondering if anyone knows where the blower motor is located?

The blower motor is located in passenger side kickwell, far right under glovebox.

I have encountered a similar issue where my fan only worked on the highest speed setting. The fix was the blower motor resistor which lives behind the glove box. Mine was changed out under warranty, but its only a $40 or so part and easy to change.

Your situation with no fan at all, I would put a multimeter to the connector that plugs into the fan and run it through the settings, if you have voltage you have a fan problem. If no voltage, replace the resistor. This is going off of your info that you have already checked the fuses and they were good.

Did you have a chance to look into it? Here is a video of a member here who is a Ford tech, he is changing the blower motor resistor in a Raptor (same setup) and shows how to change it, you can also see the fan location in the video.

Thumbs up

Hi bigdaddyII,

I just wanted to say thanks again for that video link, I searched all over youtube and was never able to find something for anything newer then 2004. And just so you know, it most definitely is the resistor and I will be picking up a new one after work today.

Cheers,

Happy you were able to get it sorted. Sometimes the cheapest, easiest problem, causes the most trouble. Thank you for reporting back!
