No plans for us staying home. This place will be overrun with L.A. I really dislike the holidays, & weekends here. L.A plugs up everything. Then in the winter the snowbirds confuse things. I know the day we can move to our place in Ash Fork should be a wonderful time.

Trav that is what you need is another vehicle to work on. LOL

EVERYONE REMEMBER. MONDAY we will start our 2014 FALL CHAT.

Hey guys I need a bit of help.

I have some car ramps from the enclosed trailer I use to have that got burnt in the house fire back in 2011. I need to figure a way out to reinforce them cheap so that they can hold up to a truck or a car. I used them when I got the Mustang and they ended up bending. I can bend them back straight but I need to strengthen them so that they stop bending. I just need them strong enough to load a car (doubt my trailer can haul a full size truck) or maybe a little ranger.
Thanks for any ideas
Trav

Build new ramps. trying to repair already weak metal is an accident waiting to happen. A couple of 6" or 8" wide pieces of channel then use wood blocks under them in a couple of spots to help with load. Might try that with the old ones but if they got so hot the temper is gone cracking & breaking may occur.

Greg as told the snowbirds plug up everything in the Phoenix area & Tucson area also. Most have no idea how to drive in the cities. So you find that they drive way under the speed limit, not to mention they think they are the only ones on the road so they drive like that in not only the slow lanes but the fast ones.
I had a Canadian tell me a few years ago that Arizona & Nevada wouldn't exist if it wasn't for the money they spend down here. So there you are. I guess we better be thankful they come.
But I do have a friend from Calgary that I'm looking forward to seeing & visiting with this winter.

I live in East Mesa, right by way too many retirement communities, I love summer, it is nice and warm, and there aren't any snowbirds... I have almost been hit head on 3 times in the last couple years due to snowbirds. There is a reason all of my vehicles have been tanks, up till the minivan anyway.

When you are un-employed all weekends are three day (or more) weekends. Frankly, I didn't even know what day it was for sure

I just got the last check of the severance today, I have more money in the bank right, now then I have had all year long... (I have been saving for a bit since I had an idea that this was going to happen.) I have been surprised actually at how long it has taken for companies that asked me to apply, have taken getting back to me. I have a friend at one of them and have talked with him a few times, he says they are just super slow at doing anything, and that the back ground check they do takes a week or more to do... I was like come on what are they looking for? I have my CCW permit... I have passed a Federal fingerprint check. Anyways I just hope they get on with it, I don't really want to exhaust it all paying bills.

Well I was afraid of that.
I may try that next time I offload the stang but probably going to go sooner or later. Looks like I am going to have to use some of the 2x2 tubing in the backyard and get something strong in the middles and weld some up.

Trav, you can probably reinforce them with some angle iron on each side, but the best and safest bet is getting a new set or making a new set.

And trust me Craig, I know all about the snow birds! They make up almost half of the congregation at my church!

Sorry to hear about you being laid off Donn. What kind of job are you looking for? Sounds like security or law enforcement.

I was facilities maintenance for 11 gas stations, I maintained everything. I am trying to get on with another company doing the same thing.

Happy Friday (night)!!!! Trav, i was thinking Angle iron or some plain old 2x4's or 2x6 turned on end [] and use long screws through the ramp, should hold up good enough for a while.
