I ICP reading 3,000psi...

Still have an issue with my 6.0. I changed the fuel pressure regulator yesterday and she's been driving a lot better but still having cold start issues. I'll be checking for high pressure oil leaks this weekend but I wanted to find out if my ICP is reading correctly. I was on the highway drive at 80mpg and 2, 245rpm and the ICP was bouncing between a range of 2,000psi and 3100psi. Is this normal, seems high to me.

I asked you in one of your many other threads what the ICPV's were at KOEO and you never responded, knowing the ICPV's at KOEO will tell you if there is a problem with the ICP sensor. Also was the ICP fluctuation during your 80 MPH cruise with constant pressure on the gas pedal?

I would agree

lots of varibles driving and getting sesor values

get truck hot and check it idle and 2500rpm PARKED

also KOEO numbers a must

KOEO and run KOER to verify the concern. You'll probably get P2288 ICP too high.

As soon as I unplugged the ICP sensor on my plug my truck started, ran, and drive better.

My apologies, I must have missed that. I don't have the equipment to read the ICPV but I did replace the ICP during my initial stages of diagnoses. I did send it to Ford who told me that all injectors were bad but they couldn't be sure because they couldn't get it to run right (After I told them to let it get to EOT. I talked to a buddy of mine that a mech at International and showed him the vid. He thinks its a HPO leak and says check for that. With 230,000 plus miles, I figure why not change them all anyways. I plan on getting the AutoEnginuity for my truck (when I get a better paying job) and checking it out. But after the blue spring update, I'm not getting anymore injector codes. Runs a lot better but still rough idle during cold starts.

You don't need AE to diagnose but it is nice. Less expensive options include an app for your smartphone. Do searches on here for the bluetooth parts and app.

Wish you lived a little closer, I'd gladly hook up the AE and get your truck sorted out.

If it is indeed a HPO leak on your '03, there really only are two places that leak and fail, the branch tube fitting at the pump (o-ring where it attaches to the pump) and the HPOP itself. The average life of the HPOP on an '03/early '04 is usually 200-250K then they start to fail if not completely. (Not always the case, but seems to be the consensus) The OEM pumps sometimes aren't that much better so a lot of people opt for the billet Dieselsite pump that addresses the failures for better longevity.

Either way, if you can get a second opinion through a diesel performance shop, you can either confirm the findings or find the actual answer to the problem at a fraction of the cost.
