Very true, so you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. Example, local Ford dealer took in a 2008 ish F250 SD SC as a trade a few months ago. Loved the color.... dark shadow grey. Truck had the 5.4 in it and had somewhere around 30-35K on it. They were asking $22K for it..... yes that it right. Would have pulled the trigger but was not in the position to do so at the time. My loss, someone's gain.
Not necessarily...the 5.4 is problematic in that truck...best to get a 6.2 if the budget allows. The 5.4 is no where enough motor for a S/D.

Yeah I have been in that position a few times..
I have missed out on a few opportunities due to lack of funds..
the 6.2 was not offered at that time....just saying.
You don't say!!! The 5.4 keeps service departments profitable with all the issues...manifold gaskets are not cheap!!! Just making a point that the 6.2 is a much better choice...if it fits the budget.
