Vacuum line replacement on a 1987 4.9L straight six

Hello,

I'm looking for some advice on vacuum line replacement on my 1987 Ford F150 with a 4.9L engine. When you replaced the vacuum lines, what size or sizes did you use?

During a recent check under the hood I noticed several of my vacuum lines were cracked. Some are rubber, some are hard plastic, they all vary in size. The hard black plastic one, that starts from the vacuum storage "coffee can" on the passenger side and runs to the back on the drivers side is leaking. I looked for a replacement, but cannot find one. I know there must to be someone who has replaced this hard plastic line, what did you use? What size was the hose, and where did you get it from? There are multiple size vacuum lines, does anybody know what all the different sizes are? Does a chart exist showing the line sizes?

Any advice anyone can give me would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Nick

I'm also interested in hearing an answer to this question. I'd add on the question of whether it matters if you use larger diameter hose or not. I've broken one of the thin, hard plastic vacuum lines in my 1995 F-150 4.9L and replaced it with a fuel line hose because that's all that was available from the store I was at that would fit the connections, but the diameter is much larger than the original, so I'm curious if it matters.

Most people just get rubber or silicone lines that are just big enough to fit snugly over the plastic hardlines.

They just cut the bad part out, and replace with the rubber line.

I'm gonna try some oxygen tubing for the small stuff.
Internally ribbed to prevent collapse, and super cheap
but will report back if it actually works.

unfortunately i don't know the dimensions. i brought one of the plastic connects in from the tab/tad solenoid and made sure it would slide on that snugly. then purchased what i thought would be adequate.
