DRW tire filling

Had some parts lift over from my recent air leak repairs. Found this clip on valve stem filler at a Napa auto parts store.

The fittings and hose I had. This works real good for getting air into the tires, especially the inners.

The stem connector pops off like an automative air chuck.

I still have to get back to the dealer that I got my truck from so they can align the rear wheels. The inner stem is between outer wheels slots so I'm thinking that's wrong as I can't get at the valve stem.

Good idea with the hose setup.

Balance issues? That is a big piece of brass.

I don't think he runs down the road with it. He just fills his tires with it. Hence the "quick release". I've never seen a quick release chuck like that for a tire valve. I'm having trouble understanding how the engagement of the coupler on the valve stem would work, but that could be because of visualizing how quick release airline couplers work. I hope he posts the part number.

I'm trying to figure out how that is any easier to slip onto the inside dual rear wheel than my angled tire chuck.

I mean I know it is a pain to do, but it's all part of owning a DRW truck. Or you could always spend the money for one of those fancy dual air fill hose setups.

Between the tires? Tread side approach as opposed to through a hand hole?

I've never had a DRW (personally, work truck, yes) so I haven't commented, but this is what I was thinking. As often as tire pressure should be checked/adjusted, why not install something that will make it so much easier and is a permanent solution?

I will be adding tpms to them as well.

Nice looking kit!

I was looking at the Milton kit here:
Amazon.com: Milton S4006 Valve Stem Extension: Automotive Amazon.com: Milton S4006 Valve Stem Extension: Automotive

Question -
How do you add TPMS to our DRW trucks? I thought it was disabled with the DRW? Is there a switch somewhere or a setting that the dealer needs to change?

You need to add an aftermarket kit.

I will be using this on my truck/FW/enclosed car hauler (once I can get the sensors on the rear dually tires)
Trucking System Technology |TST Trucking Systems (14 sensors total, 2 monitors)
you can disable the trailer sensors so they don't alarm when you are away from the trailer.

Holy smokes - the price tag for my truck and 4 wheels on the trailer is over $800

I suppose that could be eaten up pretty quickly by insurance deductibles and hospital bills - but just a bit of sticker shock..

Thanks for posting!
