I just picked me up a set of 2012 King ranch running boards with the built in lights. Anyone know where the door ajar wire is to hook these babies up? I'll post pics up when I take some. they look great on my 02'.

 

I think it is either a purple in the kick panel, or black with blue stripe (dome light wire).

 

I would think the dome light wire would be better. Door ajar the lights would only come on when you had the door open. With the dome light when you hit your keyless they will come on also. That being said others have stated that some trucks have the wiring by the frame rail for it. I looked all over my Lariat for them and didn't find any.

 

Yeah that makes sense. I hadnt thought that much into it yet. I looked for a plug when mounting them yesterday and didnt find any. I dont think the 99-03 came with a lighted running board option so I wouldnt see why they would. I know the 04-present had them. Do you have lights on your running boards?
