I've searched but resort to a post.
Low mile 1991 F150 4wd 4 speed. 104,000? miles
Started and ran GREAT until....

Had some friends change out the windshield wiper motor.
and either by coincidence or cause. it may run for a second or 2.

Pulled the main pump line on the frame rail and it sputters fuel.
LOTS of air at the fuel rail mixed with spurts of fuel.

Should I change the main pump or pick one of the tanks to put a new pump in?

ps - we also unscrewed the sediment bowl on the fuel diversion valve
as I have seen those full of sediment but it was clean.

new suggestion. real or imagined.
My junkyard guy said the main pump on the rail only pumps what it gets so suggested in tank pump(s) and will deliver both for 70$ tomorrow.

Also mentioned that it may be easier to get them out without pulling the bed. That is different than anything I've read.

Should I look for any special tools before we get started?
