Update on Tbird IRS install.

I realized that I have not reported the results of my installation. All I can say is it is well worth the effort. I was really somewhat fearful of not realizing a big difference. Boy was I wrong. A greatly improved ride and handling is the result. That and the Bilstein shocks that CharlieLed was kind enough to sell me have made a new truck out of it. Not that it was bad before, just much nicer now.

Did you take any pictures of it? I have a friend who put a Corvette IRS in his and he loves it too. How much work did you have to do to get it to fit, how was the width?

Posted a couple here. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...irs-is-in.html

I used Dave Helds brackets, easy install. Width was perfect for me as I had planned for a 63" wide rear end from the start. So my 8 1/2" wide Americans fit under my 3" widened rear fenders as they always have. I am very pleased with the install. Since I built a driver and not a show truck, the Tbird stuff works good for me.

I can't seem to locate Dave Helds brackets. Have you got the contact info? Do you remember what they cost?

Team321 LLC Ford Truck Independent Rear Suspension (321)960-5945 dheld@cfl.rr.com I believe. I think that the brackets are about $400. I bought mine, along with a friend, when he had a 2 for 1 sale a few years back. You could certainly follow the lead of others on this site who have done their own fabrication. Since I had the brackets I used them and they made it quick and easy for me. I like it that way.
