56 F350 rollback

There is a cool 56 F350 with a working Jerr-Dan rollback on it located in NY state on ebay. The truck looks pretty good..... Check it out.

That truck belongs to a forum member. I saw it at the Supernationals. A darn nice truck.

Sorry, I am on my tablet. I am substitute teaching today. I can't (or don't know how to) copy and paste, but I see someone did give the link.

It has been a fun build.I always wanted to do this setup on an F350.It was really cool to see the reactions of all the people who stopped to look at it at the supernationals

Being only an F350 I wonder how well it would handle a full size rig?
Like 50/60's American Iron.

The F350 DRW would probably have started life with a GVWR of 9800lbs. Empty scale weight of my 1956 F350 with script bed and a hydraulic hoist is 5,820 lbs. I figure that truck will weigh a bit more with the frame modification and the rollback. My SWAG is that truck would weigh 7,000 lbs. Probably be near or over GVWR with a 50s-60s iron. That truck does appear to have upsized wheels and would probably be comfortable with considerable more weight. I would guess Anthony did some suspension upgrades when building it.
That said, I've had mine cross the scale at over 12,000 lbs (loader operator error) but the truck handled it well with the overloads just barely touching the pads.
It would handle it, no problem.

Well I know my 66 F350 would and could handle it. Ford built some
stout Iron back in the day for sure.

I didn't upgrade the suspension and it can handle a '53-'56 F100 pickup with no problem. Honestly, most of the time a truck like this will be rolling around empty.
I could have built this an F600 chassis with a larger bed but didn't want to ride around in an F600.Driving around an F350 is a real enjoyable ride.
I have been using it around the yard to move things and would not be upset if it stayed around for a while.

Nice looking truck. That would be fun to have. Gotta get my truck finished before I can look at anything like that though....well and get my wife a house overlooking water somewhere.....
What gearing does the rear end have?
Is that a high fan mount water pump? I didn't think they had those for the larger Y-blocks??

That's actually nicer than my f600 was at the start, and it came out beautiful
