I have a Diamond Eye aluminum system. It is fine, but I originally ordered the stainless steel system, but received the aluminum one. The shop installed it, gave me a discount on the quoted cost, and that was the last I heard from the shop and Diamond Eye. If I had to it over again, I would've gone with the MBRP product.

FWIW, MBRP down pipes are known to be a bit more difficult to install. I'd stay with the diamond eye.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a system and am curious as to what you mean by this? Thanks.

When I bought my Diamond eye system I did a lot of research on here and there was others that said the MBRP down pipe did not fit as good as the diamond eye. That is the reason I when with Diamond eye and it went on and fit good. I did have to use a portapower on the fire wall but no matter the system your going to have to do this. Don't use the clamps that come with the system they make it very hard to remove the down pipe after you clamp them. Buy band clamps this makes it much easier.

I've looked into this a lot. It seems that most people that had a issue with MBRP had a ZF5

I've installed 3 MBRP pipes on 3 different trucks that had the E40D and none had fitment issues

It would be nice to see a MBRP and a diamond eye side by side for a comparison

I installed both brands on E4OD trucks and the diamond eye is easier for whatever reason. I used the same tools and technique for both jobs. The MBRP works fine but it just took a little bit more work, time and frustration to get installed.

I believe that stainless is a much poorer conductor of heat than aluminum. If this is true, stainless does not dissipate heat as quickly as aluminum. Reducing the amount of heat an exhaust systems dissipates is the reason for applying header wrap and ceramic coating.

I know that when I climb under my truck with completely stock exhaust, I am always surprised at how hot it isn't.

If/when I buy an exhaust upgrade, it will be stainless.

Here are some pics before I installed my exhaust. I polish the whole system before I installed it.
difference between factory 3" 1/2 and diamond eye 5"

Down pipe installed

Picture of the 5" installed

Down pipe from bottom.

Removing old down pipe.

New exhaust as I received it from RiffRaff.

Comparing to Kevin's truck mine would probably belong in the junk yard. I don't know whether to laugh or cry right now
