Shop near Charles Town WV (DC Metro area) to work on my 6.0?

Losing coolant, starting to get worse, suspect head gaskets leaking when hot and under load, need shop familiar with these engines that I can trust to diagnose and do the work the right way the first time if necessary. Any recommendations?

On the main page go up to the Forums click scroll to Chapter section from there look for a chapter near you , they will get you to the right Mechanic. Good luck. is it puffing white misty smoke? EGR Cooler park the truck nose down hill over nite , pull the EGR Valve and look for wet?

I use a place in woodsboro md called XLR8 diesel. They specialize in the 6.0. I'm from brunswick md. It takes me about 30 min to get their. Great people and have always treated me right.

If you are willing to drive about 3 hours south of DC to the Norfolk/VA Beach area, TRE Diesel is one of the best around and gladly accepts 6.0 work. He will take care of things, and he will continue to take care of you even after the bill is paid. Drop it off, spend a few days at the Beach.

McAfee Motorsports in Waynesboro, PA (717) 765-9030 is about an hour north of you. I haven't had them personally work on anything of mine but hey installed an engine for a customer and upgraded the HPOP. I talked to them on the phone a few times and they seemed to know what they were doing. If you call them, please tell them that Asheville Engine Rebuilders sent you.

They are in Norfolk. 2514 Alabama Ave, Norfolk, VA. Ask for Tim. 757-831-7451. Tell him Keith Fromme sent ya. He's also on facebook under TRE Diesel Performance.

No I never did. I really need to, every time I find some place it seems like I find a negative review of them somewhere. I guess that's the nature of the Internet. For me, this is going to be a huge expense and I literally can't afford to have it done more than once. I can't risk repairs on someplace that isn't familiar with the 6.0. I would attempt it myself but I don't have a garage plus I don't have any time. Too much other stuff going on. Antrim diesel in PA is sort of the brand name around here but I've also heard their estimates are high. But then again, if their work is of higher quality then it might be worth it. Now that this is bumped up I may check with one of those other places nearby. I'd like to at least have the cooling system tested and make sure it is the headgaskets before I have the work done.

Did you look at xlr8, if your still in Charles town it's close. And 6.0s is their game. I am not affiliated with them, I've just had my truck worked on by them.

There is very little in my area, if you look at a map you would understand. State lines mean very little in the DC metro area. I can be in VA or md in 15 mins and in PA in 40, and Delaware is only 90 minutes. But Charleston WV is 5 hours away.
