Coolant Temp Sensor 4.0 SOHC

I see in the Haynes it's under the upper intake manifold. Is this the one that feeds the computer, acting as a cold start sensor? There's another to send to the gauge? Having a cold morning startup, don't know if theres a CEL yet.

What year is your Explorer? Typically, there's a sensor for the computer that has two wires and the sender has one wire (assuming you have both). At some point in time, I think the sender was eliminated.

Take a look at the parts on Rock Auto or some other parts supply house.
