Which tranny in the 15?

It appears there are two. Electronic Six-Speed Automatic Transmission with Tow/Haul Mode and SelectShift® Automatic Transmission with Progressive
Range Select (NA 3.5L Ti-VCT engine).

I haven't bought a new truck in over ten years so which one would I want and why? Looking for some advice. Thanks

Same two transmissions in 2011-2014. Your transmission choice will be made for you based on your engine choice mostly. To be honest, I don't know what the difference is, aside from the +/- buttons on the shifter.
the "new" transmissions will be out in a year or two.

There is only one transmission. They are all the 6R80 until the new 10 speeds hit. It's the controls that are different. The tow/haul mode with select shift just gives you more control of the transmission.

I am confused because the build sheet states -"* = New for this model year" on the SelectShift® Automatic Transmission with Progressive
Range Select (NA 3.5L Ti-VCT engine)

The wording they used makes it sound like a new transmission but it isn't. It's still the 6R80 but with new electronic controls.

The "new for this model year" is the 3.5L N/A motor.
