Hi , i want to get a spraycan of paint ,the sme colour as my truck
paint code: HS ,on the registration papers its called :stone green

so i googled somewhat and it tells me indeed that HS is stone green ,but others say it is :earth metallic
,so i called my dealer,gave them the vin number ,and sure enough they call it :earth metallic , but now i'm convinced that its called stone green

so how am i ever going to get the right color?

In all seriousness, if you gave them the year and paint code it should match.

Names for paint colors are made by marketing hippies. All the factory knows is paint code, same color could roll across multiple model years and have different names (when I was at Chrysler they did this religiously with paint code WYR yellow)

If the code is year X HS and the can is year X HS I wouldn't worry about it. Do a test spray and if it don't match go get your money back

 

oh ok , i thought the name was just as important as the code

but i guess i'll just order a can and see if its the right colour

I'm the same way. I have stone green and went to dealer for some touch up paint and he called it earth. I bought it anyways and it did match. Hope that helps
