New truck with no Carburetor

@HIO
@mx21 nice cond. and pics .. Stock hydraulic valve train .. if you could, take a shot of one of the valve springs straight on like this not out of the motor of course but a straight on so I can see a little of the interior of the spring .. The springs are starting to look non stock and replaced for possible head rebuild and for a more radical cam .. All good things

Yeah so from the pic those are not stock valve springs .. So the motor looks like at the very least the top end was gone through and more than likely the bottom as well .. From what I'm seeing it is a built 390 but the only way to be sure without taking the motor apart is to do the test HIO linked to ..
Is this the same truck as was in the other thread you started ?

So its looking like I have a rebuilt 360 with a Streetmaster intake and headers. With this information is there any carburetor size recommendation? 600/650 or??
Is there anything else I can research easily to try and find whats been done with the motor before I spend the money on a new carb? I don't have access to anyone who has extra carbs for me to try out before hand.
Thanks for any help/suggestion.

No problem .. Your welcome It's better to know for yourself before you lay down the price of a new carb .. After watching do you think the single plane intake is for you? Maybe a used edelbrock performer is a better choice for what your using the truck for .. The streetmaster should bring $250 -$300 I would imagine

All those CFM calculators are coming out to be around 450cfm. So I'm assuming a 500 would be fine? Or if there has been work done the motor at all would it be better to go to a 600? Sorry for all the noob questions.

Yeah it seems to be a strange set up for a big heavy truck with a low revving motor that likes to make power down low? I'm thinking I might try it out first, since its already there and then decide, although I don't have anything to compare it to.
