I move into this place in June of 96 and used the garage as a garage until 2001 - About the only reason that it didn't self convert into a storage area was that I needed to keep my primary vehicle ready to go for an emergency response.
In 2001 I no longer had an excuse and the STUFF pushed the vehicle right out the door
Even before 2001 I was doing all my work in the driveway or under the spreading maple tree that stood beside the garage
That worked for awhile but age and disabilities caught up with me and it became nearly impossible for me to work in the driveway using car ramps and jackstands - Almost all work ground to a halt with the only things done were at the grace of a neighbor who would jockey his vehicle around to make some room for me (He has more property then me so I mow a bunch of his "back 40")
I now have the money to have a garage complex built - below are pictures of Stage 1 - This involves moving my old garage back 36' and putting it on a new pad
So here we go.
The old garage:
Site of new location:
My back "40"
1948 Ford F1 Panel
1952 Ford F2x2 (Non-Stock Flat 6)
1997 Ford Explorer Every Thing I've Ever Said Is A Lie
K Boy does one ever accumulate a bunch of cr^p over one's lifetime. I need to go through my junk this summer!
I sold a house some years back, we had lived there for 15 years or so, and it was high off the ground, you could work under there. I had a swag of stuff there I had accumulated. The house sold in 9 days and we had 2 weeks to get out, out by Christmas eve. I took nine trailer loads straight to the dump before I got serious with cleaning up.
My old girl has the original look, which I do love. It does have a few mods, but I think it is only lightly toasted. I love customised vehicles, and would like to customise a 53-56 pickup, but don't have the nerve, the skill or the money to do significant custom panel work. Long live the darkside and those with the courage to travel there.
