Talking The New "Not The Garagemahal" Part 2, P 3

I move into this place in June of 96 and used the garage as a garage until 2001 - About the only reason that it didn't self convert into a storage area was that I needed to keep my primary vehicle ready to go for an emergency response.
In 2001 I no longer had an excuse and the STUFF pushed the vehicle right out the door
Even before 2001 I was doing all my work in the driveway or under the spreading maple tree that stood beside the garage
That worked for awhile but age and disabilities caught up with me and it became nearly impossible for me to work in the driveway using car ramps and jackstands - Almost all work ground to a halt with the only things done were at the grace of a neighbor who would jockey his vehicle around to make some room for me (He has more property then me so I mow a bunch of his "back 40")
I now have the money to have a garage complex built - below are pictures of Stage 1 - This involves moving my old garage back 36' and putting it on a new pad
So here we go.

The old garage:

Dick, I'm glad to see someone has a smaller garage than me.

But you have a bigger yard. You can probably get away with moving the structure without getting a building permit.

Did you write anything in the wet concrete?

This is the temp storage area - When you have to move something like this you begin to realize that STUFF can have a bunch of stuff mixed in

Looking from the back yard forward - The Panel has STUFF in it and the shed to the right is full of STUFF

A plug for the contractor - Besides doing work around my place he also supplies me with deer meat

Now that's my idea of a nice place to live, Its beautiful, not the typical American tract house. With a new garage, what more could a man want? congratulations Dick.

I figure that I'll have three to five years, if I'm careful, of usable space before STUFF takes over

Dick,

Lookin' good. I built a new 24x24 garage in 2012 and I'm still trying to fit all my stuff in it! If I had as much space as you do it would have been 30x36...

Stage 2 which begins in the next few days will be a 28Wx36L with 10" sidewalls - It will have a 9hx16w door on the front and be connected in the back thru the original garage door

I'm not putting in a lift now----I know, I know-----everyone has their limits - I am haveing the center section poured deeper and more reinforcement put in - Someday

I sold a house some years back, we had lived there for 15 years or so, and it was high off the ground, you could work under there. I had a swag of stuff there I had accumulated. The house sold in 9 days and we had 2 weeks to get out, out by Christmas eve. I took nine trailer loads straight to the dump before I got serious with cleaning up.
