New possible buyer questions

So im going to be buying a new truck soon and may become a member of the Ford group. One of the options is a 2012 F250 XLT with the 6.2 gas motor. I cant get a diesel for my price range with low enough miles (less than 7k) and new enough as soon as I need a truck. This truck will be my daily as well as hauler so I want something that will last for a few years with only normal wear items needing to be serviced (i.e. oil, filters, tires, brakes, etc).

Just wanted to know if you guys had any opinions on this truck in the non-diesel configuration? I cant seem to find many reviews on the F250 WITH the 6.2 in it, mostly just reviews of the diesel. Any common problems or issues with either this truck or the motor in it?

Thanks!

Welcome to FTE and to the Super Duty forum, watershipdown.

The 6.2L is an awesome engine. There have been no major issues with it.

Last weekend me and a bunch of guys hauled trailers loaded with side by sides and 4 wheelers to southern w va to the Hatfield McCoy trail system.Coming home we had to pull over to tighten some straps on my buddys load. He has a 2015 3500 chevy with a diesel, I have a 2014 with 6.2 gas. Both pulling 16` trailers, mine enclosed his open.I sugested when we pull back onto the road we both hammer down and see who`s pulls and takes off faster. I let off at 80mph and had pulled 5 or 6 truck and trailer lengths on him. I was impressed with my 6.2. He got 3 mpg better than me but I can out pull him.

3mpg sure doesn't cover the price difference between gas and diesel. 6.2 is great, my fire dept has a 13 f250...hasn't skipped a beat.

You from West by God? I was down rafting the new river last weekend.

I have a 14 F250 6.2l and I just turned 13,000 miles. I've had it for 7 months and has done everything I've put it through. I tow maybe 10k at most with a 18' open car trailer. I see in the 12-13 mpg area mixed driving.

It's a great truck and has plenty of power.
