I just noticed that on the highway sometimes (3 times) the tow/haul light is lit. I press the button and it will not turn off and when I get off of the highway I can tell the trans is shifting through the tow/haul strategy. Once I shut the engine off and restart it the light goes off and it drives normal. When it is driving normal I can turn the tow/haul off and on with no problems but noticed the light coming on it's own recently.
Most likely you have a wire inside the steering column that has had the insulation worn off. Remove the plastic cover from the column and inspect where the wires enter the shift handle. Fix the wires or replace the handle.
Was reading my owners manual,2014. It said the tow haul will come on by itself it it senses alot of repeated braking. And will do everything you said it was doing. I believe it is normal.
f250 sd tow/haul light flashes with check engine light code is p0713 trans fluid temp sensor circuit, high imput has torqshift trans how do we fix change sensor?
I have a ford 2005 f250 just recently the tow haul light started flashing when I press the button when I haul the travel trailer that we have and after a few minutes the light starts flashing and the next thing that happens is when I go to take off it wont shift out of 1st gear if you come to a complete stop and then try to go again it wont shift then we have to stop and shut the truck off and crank it back up and it wont be flashing anymore
It showed a couple codes that said that the selinoid A,E sensor and they replaced the transmission wiring harness and it still does the same thing it did before
I took it to a diesel mechanic and they are stumped
I'd expect that. You have a transmission problem and took it to an engine shop. Bad choice. Try taking it to someone that knows transmissions, not a diesel shop.
