clifford dual intake carb found!

I just played on craigslist. There's a un-used clifford dual carb intake, with the 4brl intake, and a lot of other built motor stuff.

Asking 300$ for the intake, should I grab it?

Eventually I want to run dual 2brl carbs, don't have the money to go that way unless someone wants the offy c and a random Holley 450?

if i can sell my intake manifold, and i think i can, then i can afford dual carbs. next question is should i go with 32/36 since they are progressive or should i go with the 38? the 32/36 will get much better mpg and a bigger jump when it opens.

im jiust concerned about my motor right now, i still havent gotten it to a machine shop, imt rying to find somplace cheaper, the work is cheap, but they want 500$ for a dyno break in, which isnt that bad, but that costs as much as the work im having done.

hope ftf sees this and chimes in

I always wanted a dual set up. I searched CL and found zero. I believe the 300 would run better with a dual set up. I may be interested in the C. k

It's actually a d, I was mistaken.

I've searched since I first found out about it and haven't seen one until this.

But I don't know the value of just the manifold.
Clifford asks what 1200$ for it with 32/36 installed and tuned to close. Carbs are 200each so that's down to 800, let's say a hundo for tuning it to be very close, then their stupid mocks up of a hundred or two and say 500, then the regular manifold, which wasn't too crazy, is 300$. So I don't feel like it's too highly priced.

I just don't know about the rest of the intake setup

If that intake doesn't have the heating provisions then it is useless except for racing, imo. He is asking $300 for it. I know Clifford has those dual intakes available. I was at his house and he showed me. You might call and ck.

I picked up a Clifford dual carb set up for cheap a few months back. It came with two shot 2100"s mounted on it. It was on CL just listed as a six cylinder intake, the seller didn't know what it was for, he was just cleaning out a shed. I recognized it as being for a Ford and grabbed it.

Dual Quad intakes - I love 'em.

I use one on my street driven ****** coupe with EFI exhausts and no manifold heat. It gets 17 mpg and turns 13 second quarter miles.

I'm getting ready to replace the 4V intake on my track roadster with one:

After installing the 2 x 2 on The Family Truckster and running it at two drag races I can report that it performed great. It turned a bunch of high 11 second times (11.85 best) - with only smallish 1.02 Autolite carbs and running 2.47 REAR END GEARS!. I think further improvements would be realized with larger 1.08 or 1.21 carbs. The most amazing thing to me was that I did not need to perform any tuning adjustments to the setup, outside of setting the idle speed - it worked right out of the box. I am using C1xx carbs - 1961 vintage, 54 years old.

I've been thinking about buying the Clifford dual carb kit for a long time for my 66 f250 camper special that I want to be a daily driver as soon as I put it together (just did a frame-off). I've had good luck in the past with those webers on other vehicles, so I'm familiar with them, but also like the idea of the Autolites. Anyone use their kit right out of the box or just the manifold with their own carbs on a truck? If I'm not mistaken, the newer ones are plumbed for water heat. More than anything, I really like the wow factor when you open the hood with multiple carbureation!

The two dual carb intakes I've seen have not had the water spots/heat section to them
Also Clifford isn't the best company to call and get info from, they just want to sell, and that's all I'm going to say.

If you find one yeah sure get it but I wouldn't be putting money into their pockets if it was my cash. Imo

Looks like it does indeed have water per their description. I took this from their website. I do agree with them being clueless, but you must admit the dual intake is pretty cool.

So how does one get 300$ for a intake, 140$ in adapters, 600$ carbs equal 1200$ before shipping? Or has price dropped?
