VSS adapter?

VSS adapter?
I was talking to a good friend of mine about axle swaps. He brought up that someone out west makes a "VSS adapter" that goes on the back of the transfer case or transmission for when you swap out an older axle that doesn't have the sensor in/on the axle. Has anyone ever heard of this or would it be "easier" to put a tone ring on the ring gear, drill a hole over it and install a VSS/ABS sensor that way?
Of course I could just be thinking nonsense.

honestly you have no benny going with the D60's out back. both if I recall would 31spline while the sterling is 35spline. now the front 78.79 kingpin d60 is nice if you are looking to stay coil sprung. there is enough room to have the axle wedges welded on just like the D44 half ton axle has. Then you can run either stock radius arms from 78/79 or go for the James Duff arms.
