Welcome to FTE. I love COE's Post some pictures, Please. when you can.
I knew of one 48 COE around here but I think that trim peice was also missing. I'll see if I can find pictures. usually you have to buy the entire truck for these parts...
I recently had a 51 and 52 COE trucks and one had the battery cover box and the other didn't have it. the guy thats building the 51 (that had the battery box) may be doing something custom so the battery box may or may not be used on the build?? I'll ask him.
but your best bet is to check Ebay twice a week until you find one. they are hard to find but not impossible.
Good luck
Josh

I have that piece of stainless trim that runs down the center of hood, but it has some dents in it. It may be able to be repaired and used, but it would take many hours of labor by someone that knows what they are doing to make it look good again. I can offer a suggestion if you are not trying to be 100% original, but I have seen some guys get a piece of the chrome plated plastic stick on pickup truck wide side moulding and put it on. Like I said, it isn't exactly correct, but unless you know what the original one is supposed to look like, it does look pretty good. Just an option. I personally liked the looks of my truck without the trim anyway, so I just left it off. I do have a good hood mldg too, but I don't want to sell it.

COE dismantle
Someone said you know how to remove the front group on a COE bolt by bolt. Could you share? I just got a 52 COE 4x4. Thanks Ron G.
