I ran the same as Brian on my 7.3, little bit of "massaging" was required to make it fit with the firewall. I believe a 3.5" dump pipe will bolt straight up. I had mine piped to just in front of the rear axle out the side. If I did it again I might fit a small muffler, was noisy in the cab under load (climbing hills or towing), but sounded mean as all heck. (mean as in, set off car alarms at idle - deafen the dead at WOT)

My 6.7 now has a 4" straight pipe that goes to behind wheels - stock location. With the extra exhaust length, and the quieter engine, its loud enough when you really get on it, but not that noisy under normal driving like the 7.3 was.

Adrian is dead right about loud in the cabin, budget for a serious stereo when you buy the exhaust system.
