05 axles in a OBS

So I have decided to sell my ECSB and buy a CCSB. I want to swap in 05 axles when i bug the truck so today i bought a 2005 rolling chassis to do coils up front and a 10.5 out back. I am perfectly comfortable with getting the axles under the truck that is not my problem. The area i lack knowledge in is the brakes.
I have a few questions, hope yall can help.
1) obviously i need to adapt the brakes (front and rear) to the OBS lines. But i dont know the thread pitch of either the OBS brake lines OR the 2005 brake lines. So what adapter fittings or flare nuts would i need?

2) i have read about people who have done the swap and the rear brakes lock up quickly because the 10.25 drum brakes require different pressure than the 10.5 disc brakes, so if i were to install a proportioning valve, what model and thread pitch would i need to make this work?

Ill figure out the parking brake.

Thanks yall

Aaron

I haven't got it off-hand right now, but there was a thread where I guy took 06 axles and welded/drilled the frame and fit them up on his OBS.

I will find it later tonight. Or will try to find it. lol

Just convert to hydroboost brakes like the SD trucks have and not worry about it.
It's really the best way to go.

contact Cary at CT performance. He has the brake lines that you need to do the swap.

find an OBS F-superduty truck and remove the hydro boost parts, then bolt it in in place of the master cylinder and vacuum booster yo unbolted from your truck.

I believe there is a new method that uses a setup from a motorhome. You also need to modify or change the brake pedal.

that is why you use the F-superduty stuff from the year/ style truck you currenttly have, it bolts rite in without fabricating anything .

FOUND IT!
I was having issues because it wasnt on FTE! lol
This would be awesome.
06 Axle swap, the whole story - Ford Powerstroke Diesel Forum

However, for that much work... I'd probably just keep the 6.0 drivetrain and put an OBS body on it.

Ok... I found some of the info on the hydroboost...

Yes the brake pedal in hydro boosted trucks are different than vacuum.

"the pedal pin on the F-Superduty is indeed 3/4" closer to the pivot than the vacuum-boosted one"

What this means is that if you use the same brake pedal it will be harder to brake.

I am looking for the details on the other hydroboost assembly (from a f-53 chassis iirc) that came up in one thread but cant find it yet (I forgot to bookmark it).

Richard

EDT: here is a link to a guy that converted the pedal....
