Alright i got under there today and went to bolt up the flexplate but found out that the bolts that came out of the flywheel for the manual transmission are too long. Duh i shouldve seen that coming. Quick question are they any type of specialty bolts or can i go to the hardware store and pick up grade 8 bolts that are shorter? Thanks for all the help guys

What about a 1996 F350 4x4 CCLB 7.5L automatic Gas swap with a 1997 F350 4x4 CCLB 7.3L diesel 5-speed manual? Both same color, interior, axles, 4x4. The diesel frame and body are bent from being totaled and is non-op compared to the gas with everything new. The gas was purchased ad a parts truck with 8" lift, 37" tires 20" deadlock rims, fox racing shocks, airbag system in the back, aftermarket rear bumper and other little parts here and there. The diesel is stock but with aftermarket bumpers (rear bumper fell off and was destroyed by the crash). What would one have to switch and whats the fastest way?
I know:
engine wiring harness
dash wiring harness
engine
trans
radiator
maybe the drivelines

I have heard that taking both bodies off and swapping engines then placing the bodies back and changing the harness is the fastest/easiest way. Would that be or just pull the radiator our and the bumper off and take the engine and trans out through the front as one be fast? any feedback would be helpful. Im asking because i love my diesel and ever sense i started driving it, I've hated gas because of the smog rules in ca. Im still getting the insurance company to come out and say the truck is totaled so till it is and I get the truck back I can't do anything.
